DR. RAM CHADDHA:
Dr. Ram Chaddha, MBBS, MS (Orthopaedics), is a Consultant Spine Surgeon working at Global Hospitals, Parel, Mumbai.
He completed his training in Orthopaedics from the L.T.M. Medical College & General Hospital, Sion, Mumbai in 1989 and continued his passion for teaching as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at his parent institution. He completed multiple advanced fellowships in Orthopaedics & Spine Surgery in France, Germany, Switzerland & USA.
Dr. Ram Chaddha comes with 30 years of rich experience in the field of Spine Surgery and has been associated with various hospitals in the country. His flair for teaching made him the Professor & Head of Department of Orthopaedics at the K.J. Somaiya Medical College & Hospital, Sion, Mumbai.
He is the pioneer of ‘MICOSS- Minimally Invasive Cosmetic Spine Surgery’ in India and developed thoracoscopic and laparoscopic surgery for spine deformities, infections and tumours around the turn of the century. He fine-tuned his acumen at various centres in USA, Europe and Asia. He has performed high end complex spine instrumentations for Kypho-Scoliosis & Failed Back Surgeries which were referred to him from various parts of India and overseas.
His contributions at local, regional, national & international levels include scientific papers, editorials, podium presentations and orations. He is a regular ‘Key Note Speaker’ & ‘Guest Orator’ at Scientific Conventions, both for his academic and non-academic motivational and inspirational presentations.
He is the Past- President of the ‘Association of Spine Surgeons of India’, ‘Bombay Spine Society’ & the ‘Bombay Orthopaedic Society’. He is Council Member for India at the ‘Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Association’ and Chief National Delegate from India for the ‘Asia-Pacific Spine Society’. He has served on the Foreign Fellowship Committee and was the Chairman of the Centre-State Relationship Committee of the ‘Indian Orthopaedic Association’. He is on the editorial board of the Asian Spine Journal and the Indian Spine Journal.
His singular drive for perfection in the challenging subspecialty of ‘Spine Surgery’ along with world class technologies like Neuro-navigation, Intra-operative Neuromonitoring, Minimal Access Spine Techniques including Laser & Microsurgery aims to bring the best in Spine Care to Mumbai, India.
