Lumbar Prolapsed Intervertebral Disc/ Disc Herniation/ ‘Sciatica’/ Slipped Disc:
Overview: Between the bones of the spine there is a intervertebral disc which acts as a shock absorber. Sometimes it may slip from its normal position and compress the nearby nerve and cause radiating leg pain/ paraesthesia and occasionally weakness. Most slipped discs get better with conservative treatment and surgery is occasional necessary.
